Daily Sketch - 1/05/07 EYES

Published by TWOGIL... under ,

I felt like drawing eyes today because they have always been one of my favorite parts of the human anatomy. Below you will see the “starting” image, and then the finished result. (The first is of the left eye and the finished is of the right eye. But, you will be able to see how my drawings are normally begun.)

I really want to perfect drawing the eye; they are truly the “windows of the soul”. You can learn so much about a person by studying their eyes.
I am happy with how this eye turned out :D

Photo Shoot!

Published by TWOGIL... under

The ball is steadily rolling! I spoke with my aunt, who is a photographer here in Huntsville, about taking some reference photos for my art. She told me that she would definitely help, so I will be scheduling a photo shoot within the next week or two. I have to wait for the models I am using to come back in town. Man! I am soo excited. Everything is working out perfectly…just as God would have it :). I will let you know when the photo shoot is and how it goes. Remember Jeremiah 29:11! ;)

Apologies

To those who are regulars on The Journey, I do apologize for not posting a Daily Sketch in awhile. I have been super busy trying to get things settled for my transition to Maryland. Please bear with me :).

House for rent, Art Piece, and other things

Published by TWOGIL... under

Well, we decided that it makes more sense to put my house up for rent instead of simply letting it sit here. I have to talk to my realtor today, so I will keep you posted. (Thanks again for all of your prayers.)

This past Sabbath I spoke with a friend about posing for some of my art pieces, and he said yes. So the ball is steadily rolling. I am going to speak with my aunt, who is a photographer, and see if she will take the pics for me. It is pretty exciting to actually start working and get everything organized. My plan is to go to Barnes and Noble this evening to look at different poses and stances for the subjects in my artwork.

Over the holidays I stopped at an art gallery and I was liberated by the vast array of Black artwork. I knew that my work would be there very soon :)

AYS leader :)

Published by TWOGIL... under

I hope you each had a wonderful New Year celebration! I had a few friends over, and we played games and watched a movie. It was nice. Can you believe that today is the first day of 2007…who would have thought that 2006 would fly by so fast. Well this year has much in store for me (as most of you already know). However, on top of doing art full time, I also accepted the “position” of Youth Director at my home church in Maryland (Breath of Life). I am sooo excited. The youth have always been one of my passions. I love their youthful spirits and eagerness to have fun. It will be very challenging for me because the youth are so important to our future (not just at my church but everywhere). They go through and experience more things than we can even imagine. Please keep me in your prayers. I desire to draw them closer to Christ and to help them have more Christian fun. (P.S. If any of you have any ideas for Youth Programs, please feel free to let me know.)
