First and foremost, I would like to welcome you to The Journey. The first question that usually enters ones mind is, Who am I? For starters my artist name is TWOGIL (pronounced ‘two’-'gill’). My real name however is Tiffani Claiborne, and I am a 24-year old self-taught fine artist.
At the tender age of 9 I sold my first piece of art. Thus began The Journey to become a serious fine artist. For the past 5 years, I have wrestled with the thought of living this lifelong dream. You see, I have always wanted to produce my artwork “full-time”, but as many of us are familiar with, there is that incessant fear of the lack of job-security. I have been blessed with an excellent job as a Web Designer, and honestly have no complaints. Except…that my passion is in fine art.
I can still remember the first time that I fell in love with art. One evening, I walked into my sisters’ bedroom and saw her drawing one of her friends. She was no older than 15, but her talent far exceeded her age. The image that she had reproduced of her friend, remains vividly imprinted upon my mind. It literally looked exactly like her friend. Ever since that one evening, I have been driven to be a good fine artist. This goal has led me to study numerous art books and practice many techniques.
The Journey is a collection of the thoughts, processes, and steps that I have and am still going through to become a full-time fine artist. I hope that you are blessed by The Journey and in some way encouraged to accomplish your own lifelong goals.
