The Journey

Good Morning! It is 6:21 in the morning in Maryland and I have been up since 4 a.m. Yes, 4 a.m. My daily schedule for the week is to wake up at 4 a.m., have worship for 2 hours, and then start drawing :). Today will be my first official day on “the job” as an artist. MAN is it ever exciting. The biggest challenge will be discipline, but I know that God will help me to stay focused.
So, you are probably wondering how everything went with the preparation to come to Maryland and how the trip went. Well, everything went well. Prior to leaving, my WONDERFUL coworkers from my previous job took me out to lunch and gave me a gift card to Hobby Lobby. (For those that have never heard of it, it is an EXCELLENT arts and crafts store. They have everything. :)) I was so blessed by the gift. My coworkers were GREAT. A few other coworkers gave me great gifts too. They really cared about me, and I really cared about them. I will never forget the blessing they were to me (and still are).
My scheduled day to leave town was Friday the 9th. A group from Oakwood College was scheduled to perform at my church for our AYS program (the youth program after church), so we all drove up together. There were two vans and my car. We left Huntsville at 7 a.m. on Friday morning and arrived in Maryland at 1 a.m. on Saturday morning. It only took a long time because of stops, a few car issues, and getting lost once or twice. But all in all we had a great time. They performed at my church on Saturday afternoon and everyone was blessed.

On Sunday, my friend from grade school stayed over and helped me set up and arrange my room, which looks very good. It is a bedroom and art studio all in one. I have to go to IKEA today to get a bookshelf and some other things to complete the room. So look for some pictures of it later on this week.
