H20color Practice: step-by-step

Over the past few weeks, I have done a lot of research on famous watercolor artists. From this research, I have discovered 5 artists that I really want to learn more from:

  1. Thomas Eakins
  2. Andrew Wyeth
  3. Winslow Homer
  4. Albrecht Durer
  5. Edward Hopper

These seem to be the quintessential artists of history in relation to watercolor. I desire to be the best, so I must study the best.

Among these 5 however, two remain prominent in my thirst to learn more. They are Andrew Wyeth and Albrecht Durer. In each work of their works of art, I can see an attention to detail, mastery of technique, and an exceptional understanding of color.

I started my practice with Andrew Wyeth’s piece below:
