“It shall be well…”

Published by TWOGIL... at 9:46 am under

A lot has happened over the past few days. I told my boss that I will be leaving, I began packing up my home, I posted my home for rent, and…my car broke down. Yeah, it was a shocker to me too; especially since I am supposed to be driving back to Maryland in
about 4 weeks.
Here are the details. While driving to get my hair trimmed, my car completely shut off. My mechanic, who is the BEST mechanic ever, told me that he would be right over. Well, as usual, the car decided to start right before he arrived. So, he told me to call him if anything else happened and I proceeded to drive home. When I was about 1 minute from my driveway, my engine erupted in smoke (which I found out later was simply an extreme amount of steam). I jumped out of the car and ran down the street, just in case the car caught on fire. Once again I called my mechanic and he drove all the way back to my home and checked out my car.
He informed me that my car had overheated because there was no anti-freeze in it. To make a long story short, he told me to pray that the head gasket did not blow (if it had it would be about $800 to fix). He came over again last evening and we realized that the radiator had busted. We are still praying that the radiator is the only thing wrong with the car.
So how does “it shall be well” fit into todays post? Well, prior to my car breaking down, a friend and I were speaking about how excited we were about doing the Lord’s will for our lives. She had just gave a two weeks notice to her job and had decided to work for the Lord. So, I knew that the devil was not happy that I had truly stepped out on faith and do the same. I talked with God and asked Him what He wanted me to do. I knew when we were speaking that it would really hurt my budget to have to pay to get my car fixed. My main concerns were that I would be leaving in a few weeks, money was tight, and I did not know how things would work out with my car. Now, though I was concerned about these things, I really was not worried, because I knew that God would work everything out. So, this morning God spoke to me through His Wonderful Word.
God directed me to read Isaiah 3:10 which says, “Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.” He reminded me that when I do His will, all things will work together and be well. I praised Him for speaking so clearly and reminding me to simply rely on Him. I am so excited to be moving forward in doing His will for my life, and I know that He knows my heart.
As children of God, we must always remember that when we do God’s will It shall be well. :)
