I worked hard on a piece today, and I really accomplished a lot. The face of the figure is completed and you can really feel the intense emotion. I have to finish working on the neck and the second figures face. (I did a sketch earlier but I am working on being able to post images from my phone. Once the bug that is causing it is fixed, I will post the sketch.)

Last week I began working on the pieces for my next series entitled ‘The American Dream’. God was really helping me to move fast; in one day I drew 6 outline pieces on paper. So, as of right now, I have 9 pieces on paper (their outlines). I am very happy with my progress thus far. This series will have a total of 50 pieces, meaning that I have to work in overdrive :).
Well, I am going to get back to work now. Have a great day.

Yep, the ideas are down and it is about to begin :). I am getting ready to begin drawing my first pieces for my next series. This next series will be monumental; it connects so many races together while pointing us all to the message of thinking about each other first. look for it later on in 2008.;)
(FYI: My parents purchased 2 very nice sketchbooks for me and - to top it off - some extremely nice pens and pencils. See below for a pic.

Sunday - Veteran’s Day in DC sketches:

These ducks were diving head first into the water. They would come up to survey their surroundings and then go right back down.

I went to the WWII memorial with some friends, and while they walked around I sat down to sketch. This gentleman was sitting on one of the steps looking around. It was a perfect opportunity to sketch my surroundings and an observer. I call it “Contemplation”.

This is the “Vietnam Women’s Memorial Project, Inc.” It was done by Sculptor Glenna Goodacre.

I started off this morning with a sketch of my mailbox; which can be seen from my bedroom window. The bottle to the left is spray bottle that comes with my portable H2Ocolor set. To the right of the mailbox, you can see the miniature “cup” that I use to hold water when I paint in watercolor at home.

This is a portion of the cover of the current “Sports Illustrated” magazine. The faces of the men were really lively.

This is a formula for one of my favorite edible delights…smoothies :). I LOVE smoothies. So, while I was preparing to make a smoothie this evening, I decided to sketch some of the ingredients that I normally use. (In the picture - strawberries, soymilk, and peanut butter. mmm good)

The beauty of the multi-colored leaves:

My view from Barnes & Noble and a book on organization that I liked:

While I was at Barnes & Noble I found a book on Blacks in America. It talks about the differentiation between middle-class and upper-middle-class and if there really is a difference. The summation of the book on the back seemed very interesting, so I purchased it. So far it has been very enlightening.
